I know people pay you good money to catch trophy macks, but when you do catch the smaller ones, do you allow your clients to keep a limit? I'm talkin the 3-5#'s of course.
Anyway, for my 2 cents, I would say there really is no reason to keep a big mack... the 3-5#'s taste better, and there are an abundance of them in the Gorge anyway. You can always get a replica made. The only reason I would EVER keep a trophy mack would be because it was dead due to a ripped gill or something like that.
I want my kids to have the oppurtunity to catch these beautiful brutes as they grow up. And if IFG's estimate of 1000 macks over 30lbs in the gorge is close, then we really can't afford to kill them.
