Wading Equipment Compatibility with Cleaning Solutions
#6
What had started this thread was:

When discussing wading boots I had said that a number of organizations where now starting to discourage the use of felt soles on wading boats and encouraging the use of other alternative soles that are not as porous.
1) Microscopic scope pests and diseases like Whirling disease and Didymo can easily get imbedded in the fiber layers of the felt soles and thus becoming very hard to clean off equipment.
2) The same is true for New Zealand mudsnails which can be no bigger than a grain of pepper.
3) Cleaning solutions soak into felt soles and then can be hard to rinse back out of them. Some people have fears that lots of fisherman will be then taking these harmful solutions back to the water causing harm in the rivers.

Be sure to rinse your equipment thoroughly.
