Looks like Mike has you covered on a good charter. Make sure and make the call and actually speak to someone before you go and make hard plans with that charter. Find out about tips for the mate(s), rather they furnish drinks, beer, snacks, etc.....

Something I like to find out is exactly what types of species of fish does the captain have experiance with, and if the captain kinda gives you free rain with how the trip runs, or does the skipper call all the shots.

I use to take out a charter called the Lucky Strike. He'd ask us what we wanted to catch, and off we went. He took us to the fish WE wanted to target. If he predicted a bad outcome on our decision, than he gave his inputs. Either way, he'd pretty much do what ever. If we said lets go catch a striped marlin, he'd be on the way. If we said let's anchor off, drink beer, and start a huge chum slick for reef sharks, he'd be game. I like charters like that, it takes the edge off and gives you a certain level of control.

Make sure and look at previous years old fishing reports for the area so you know what's hot and what's not. Next time check out the charter and guide review forum, i'll do the research for you! [cool]
