I too am a fan of the improved clinch knot. I use it most of the time espcially for tying wet flies at the berry. I have had it cut my line or end up with a curly cue as it came untied. Only one thing to blame here ...... myself. I tied a bad knot. Tied correctly it will give you aprox. 95% of your line strength, I think. And is the best knot I have ever used for fine mono line.
I also use the Palomar (thanks Kent who taught me this knot while fishing the Berry). Talk about a fast tying knot. Draw back to both these knots are you have no free movement of your hook/lure/whatever your using. Not a big deal in Utah where live bait is outlawed!
