Chapman Lake <Spokane County>
#1
Today my wife and I left our Apartment in Spokane on an hour and a half journey to Chapman lake just outside of Cheney Washington.

We reached Chapman at roughly 5am and sat in the car and waited for the sun to come up a bit to warm up the air since both of us thought it would be a good idea to wear shorts.

I went to some of my old spots at the lake and nothing was biting, we moved locations after about an hour to another old hot spot and still nothing was biting. So we drifted all over the lake. Still nothing.

I have been fishing at this lake since I was 13. I remember you could always catch your limit on Kokanee and Rainbow Trout within a couple hours if you went while it was still dark for the Kokanee and waited till sunrise for the Rainbow.

After 10 hours we had a grand total of three bites and one hellacious sunburn. Even with the sunscreen we decided we had to come home early.

For those who do enjoy this lake. They raised some of thier prices on boat rentals, cabins, etc.

$10.00 to rent a row boat all day , it would be wise to bring your own motor>.
$20.00 to rent a cabin overnight.
$5.00 boat launch fee.

There are no jetski's/waterskiing allowed and to prevent wakes the maximum lake speed is 5 mph.

Next week Bear Lake to see if the rumors of 5lb bass are true.
