"Toughest fish that swims."
Won't get a lot of argument here. My intro to Cobia was in the Gulf of Exmouth in Western Australia. 10KG line class on a 140 Squidder & a 7' noodle rod. The water was only 39' deep & it was up & down, up & down for about 2 1/2 hours. Fish was around 40#. Sumbeech simply would NOT give up. See the boat...dive. See the boat...dive. I simply didn't have the gear to pursuade him. Didn't flop much when we finally got him on the deck, either!
Oh yeah... hooked him near the bottom with a dead Pilchard.
Didn't target them much. WAY better eating fish on the reef.
