today and the past couple days have been great for us who are haveing hopes of getting out on the ice to do some serious angling.
this weather aint for those who dont prepair.
that includes this bird who forgot to follow the rest of the herd south for a hundred miles or so.
in forgeting to or waitiing to long before making the attempt, he has signed his own death ticket, that was if it were not for one of our own here in the BFT comunity who spotted this bird laying in the middle of the road, half dead from exposure.
folks were standing around thinking help was on its way were garding the bird scaired to get near it. mean while other folks inside their worm and toasty houses were calling any one they could get to answer their phone to come out and get the bird.
I had explained to them that no one was comming for the bird, and the bird was suffering from exposure and needed to get in out of the subfreezing temps. no one else was interested in taking the bird in their home I brought him home and put him next to my shower, turned on the cold water and the bird jumped in still half frozen.
the bird realizing that I was there to help him desided not to put up a fuss.
I put in a crust of bread and half cup of spinach hoping he would eat a little something. an hour later the spinach and bread was gone.
my siberian husky sitting just out side the door of the bath room more qurious about the newly arived house guest peers over the blocade that seperates wolf from fowl.
the bird knowing the wolf is literaly at the door stays calm while recoperating.
