Here's where I'm comin' from about this whole thing. America is the greatest land on Earth, no doubt about that but things are gonna go to he-- in a handbasket it the present trend keeps up. The laws of this land are the result of a lot of experience by a great number of minds that would put my intellect to shame for sure. Not a single one of them were written on a whim or to do ill to anyone.
The law is the law dammit man. That's so whether it is a speed limit or forbidding rape & murder. Problem is too many people don't have any respect for them any longer. Kids aren't taught to respect anything anymore. When I was growing up if I got in trouble at school or, anywhere for that matter, I got straightened out good when I got home. Nowadays mommy & daddy jump to the kids defense right or wrong. Lotta times I suspect it might be to try & cover up their gutless parenting. I still believe in abiding by our laws. Do I speed? Yeah, but only when not doing so is gonna create a bigger hazard if I don't somewhat keep pace with everybody else. Is it right? No way & I WON'T go even one mile fast in residential areas. I don't keep over my limit, I pick up after myself (usually after a few others too), don't cheat on my taxes, doff my hat & shut up when our flag passes at a parade & all that other stuff. Oh, I also put my life on the line for this place a long time ago in the USMC.
Does any of this make me better than anyone else? NO DAMN WAY!!! but I do have a pretty clear conscience. I think my children have the same values too.
Maybe my ideas aren't that popular but they're mine & I'm proud of them so I won't let them go.
My initial crack about bustin heads was hyperbole but I still think those guys need their butts kicked. Their dealer is the one that needs the busted head.
