SALMON RIVER STEELHEAD?
#3
Chinook,

Here is a cut and paste from Salmon River report for March. Hope this wets your whistle!
Salmon Region Fishing Report
Report For: March 2006 [ul] [li]Fish Stocking Information [/li][/ul]
Steelhead fishing is as good as it's going to get! Break out the "big" rods. Fish are moving with the warmer water temperatures. The mainstem is on the rise with some of the lower country runoff causing some colored water. This turbidity usually disappears in a couple of days and only occasionally impacts fishing. One need only to move up or downstream to find improved conditions. Black and pink terminal tackle colors seem to be working best. Some folks tip their lures with shrimp. Weekend catch rates varied from 7 hours per fish to 11 hours per fish depending on river section. This is good steelhead fishin' folks!
Wildlife viewing can be particularly exciting along the river corridor. Elk, deer, moose, bighorn sheep, eagles, chukars and maybe even wolves can be viewed
