i havent had any problems with the rubber. usually i just push a strong hook through and it lasts a long time. i actually have several that have my own hooks in them now, and theyre all still fine to use. of course im using gamakatsu hooks which last forever anyways! maybe shasta should think about some different hook strengths? ive never had any problems with them on the kokes though- just the tough mouthed cutts at strawberry.
