Welcome to BFT Idaho and thanks for the report. Did you catch any rainbows or cutthroat? Most of the fish that I catch on the lower portnuef are browns.

The upper portnuef (above lava) hasn't been as good the last few years. Water levels improved about 12 months ago and have continued to improve. IMO the upper pornuef will be better fishing this summer than it has for several years. Now we just have to wait for the season to open.
