I had seen that one in Cabelas, too. Now it isn't there. They must have discontinued them.
One model (appears it only works on a downrigger) is available at this spot:

The one I had originally seen was designed to lower 50 feet into the water, leave for a few seconds, then reel in. It supposedly recorded the temps at 5 foot intervals, giving them to you all at once so you could located the thermocline.

Could you describe how that one works in actual use? Do you lower it, read it, lower it a little father, read it, etc? How about the oxygen and light meters? Do they work well? Is this unit practical for you?
