first ice is now on higgins lake , pike spearing is hit and miss since the d.n.d. has chemically treated the lake to remove foriegn weed groth , with the lack of vegitation the pike are just wandering around .

houghton lake has had very good ice for about a month now , spearing has produced some eceptionally large pike being taken . tip up town starts around the sevinteenth i think .

i was on the d.n.r. web site yesterday , another big round of changes coming for fishing and hunting , some already in place ! will let you know more later , right now it's off to work i go .
