Lost Ceek Today
#6
We never measured the ice but a good guess would be a solid 4" and maybe 5". Plenty safe to walk out on. Edges are great.
To access Lost Creek, you will have to walk down the hill to the ice. From the parking lot you have several options. If you go straight down over by the dam, there is a flat landing at mid point. It makes for a great spot to rest at on the way back up. I had a 7 year old that ran up and down the hill with his older brother and sister. There were several ice huts on the ice and they didn't look like they had any problem getting up and down. It's a lot better than Causey. You may want to take the sled and then the ice shelter seperate from each other to be safe. It wont be too hard to do it.
There was no slush and the only water on the ice is where you drill your hole. Just watch for old ice holes. The kids keep forgetting to look for them and that is where they could get wet. A trace of snow made walking on the ice and up the hill a lot easier.
