Once you get the hang of heat treating mohair you can open your own style salon.[
] Kidding aside, another method that works for taming yarn and hair is to wet it well, then blow dry it in the direction you want it to lay. I usually hold it with a pair of needle nose pliers and blow it back toward the bend of the hook.
These aren't new tricks, of course, but "new" perhaps if you haven't tried them before.
