A couple of winters ago, there was a stretch of about three weeks where the daytime temps at Strawberry were in the high 40s to low 50s, and the nighttime temps were near zero. It was great. The ice was hard as a rock in the morning, and just a little wet in the late afternoon. It is only that warm for a few hours, and after the sun goes down, you've got about 16 to 18 hours of freezing temps. And you'd better have sunscreen when you're up that high and with that much sun.
