A lot of guide services require full payment 60 or 90 days before the trip and at that point it's all nonrefundable. Jim Williams only requires the initial deposit, with the balance due at the time of the trip.
I read your initial post, Jim's response, and your latest post and it's clear to me that he bent over backward to accommodate you and your changing requests.
The bottom line is apparently that you reserved one of his prime days and cancelled a few days ahead and he wasn't able to rebook it. So you owed the money. And it still cost him revenue that he couldn't make up when he couldn't find anyone to take the day you had reserved months before.
And yet you whine about him not refunding your deposit???
Grow up.
P.S. And next time there is a post about somebody's good fishing trip, don't hijack it with whining about a trip you didn't take. Geez!
