Wow! people slid out of them?! All I know is I had one and no.1 they are hard to put together right. No.2 the cross brace in the fron is hard as heck to clip from inside the boat. No.3 it is a wicked feeling when you lead forward No.4 you sit so high as you mentioned that if the wind picks up (and lets face it, it does) you get blown all over the place and kick as hard as you can and it doesn't help) No.5 We sold them with our name on them at the store I worked at and got several back from the seems ripping.
I have never come close to sliding out but, I did almost loose my rod and reel. Laid it next to me while I released a fish, heard a clicking, look and grabbed the tip of my rod as it was sliding down between the seat and the back rest. That won't happen with a fat cat. (I have one of the first fat cats going on about 9 years, a little faded but still works great! Mine has the mesh behind the seat.)
