[black]The info that I share depends on a number of factors. I'll share any tips and fishing techniques that I know. Learning new fishing tips and techniques is one of the main reason I check out this site. I would rather read posts about stuff like ice conditions, what has been drained for drought and different lures/flies/bait than reports about how many fish and how big of fish. However I do like seeing pictures of big fish that others have caught. If you post a picture of a big fish and want to keep the exact location to yourself I won't be offended.
I already have more places in my mind that I want to fish than I have time for. Exploring new places or places that I haven't fished for a while is more rewarding to me than going somewhere that I have been "slaying the fish" recently. Most places that I have fished were shown/told to me by friends and family or I've read about somewhere. For me it is very rewarding to catch fish in new places that I find on my own by looking on a map and deciding to check it out or when I get lucky and stumble across something while I’m hunting or fishing somewhere else in the area. Some of my best fishing experience have been at places that I found by doing a little exploring.
I'll post more details about places like Devil Creek were almost all of the fish are recently planted rainbows. I'll post reports about places like Henry's Lake and the South Fork that are already fished by everyone and their dog but won't post GPS coordinates to the big ones are. I'll be even more vague or not post at all when it comes to small creeks or species like sturgeon, bass and wild trout. I probably only post a report for 1 out of 4 times that I go fishing. I doubt that I would see very many other fishermen at some of my favorite spots if I posted detailed reports every time I go fishing but I wouldn't like to find out the hard way.
If someone wants to post details about big wild fish from places that don’t receive very much fishing pressure that is their choice but I wouldn’t recommend it. I just think it is better to not tell everyone exactly about things like where, when and how to catch big bass on their spawning beds like certain a certain bimonthly Rocky Mounting Fishing/Hunting magazine. As long as someone is an active BFT member I’ll share almost anything with the exception of a few things that I won't even tell most of my friends.[/black]
