Back in the old days before I learned that we can fish for trout every month of the year in my area I used to look forward to the fly tying and tackle making/repair months. Then somebody wrote an article in a magazine about winter trout opportunities in Northern California where I grew up. I went out and discovered a whole fourth season. Haven't been able to catch up on the tying since. Oregon is about the same as Cali as far as opportunies. I even have to buy a fly once in awhile these days - though not very often. Not sure if I miss the days where I missed the fishing or miss the days now when I miss the tyin'. It's all fun.[]

Hope you guys who are ice locked will keep posting your musings, even if it is just a picture of your latest project or a recollection of a past trip. And when I have a good trip I'll post the results so you don't forget what its like.
