BFT's position on recent events
#31
Hey everyone,

I can't believe the ruckus that I started by posting something I thought would be interesting. I truly understand everyones concerns and points of view. I appreciate the fact that occasionally the posts get back to the truth of the matter. I thought I was bringing home dead minnows to freeze, only to find several still alive. I put them in my aquarium simply to take pictures to share in our forum. They didn't live longer than 15 minutes. I would be able to understand the severe critisism that I recieved had I shown up at another body of water with live minnows, unintentionally or not. But I didn't... The guys that were throwing stones kept trying to put me in the same catagory as the bucket biologists, and I resented it. I appreciate all the PM's and other support shown to me on the forum, and especially the guys that came to my defense. As I recall, there have been many times that I have seen members unknowingly incriminate themselves due to ignorance of the laws, only to have someone else patiently inform them of their tresspass. Usually it is accompanied by a cut and paste from the proclaimation. Not a threat of a lynching... I know without a doubt, that if someone accidentally or otherwise, deposited fish into a different body of water than where they came from, and made it known on this website, that the DWR would not have enough employees to take the calls generated from this forum.
We are afterall, as dedicated to our fisheries and to the future thereof, as ANYONE from any other online forum. If they don't think that we are, they are the ignorant ones. Just because you think you are elite because you are a "purist", doesn't mean you are. The real elites in my opinion, are the ones who try to further educate their peers in all aspects of fishing, for all species of fish. And not only share their knowledge, but gladly accept the input from others. That is the ingredient that
makes this forum great, keeps the oldtimers coming back and the newbies signing up. God Bless the USA and BFT...Amen
