To Smelly Jelly, or not to Smelly Jelly
#2
Get some mike's lunker lotion in the craw fish flavor.
What you want to do with your tube is to open the small lip on the lid, stick the lip into the inside of the tube from the rear and squirt the entire tube full of the stuff.

The reason I suggest mikes is simply beacuse of its consistency.
If you get the smelly jelly brand, its too runny and will run out of the back of the tube.

The mikes brand will stay inside until the fish squeezes it out when it closes its mouth on your tube.

The smeely jelly pastes would be great in there but its hard to get the paste out of the jar and into the tube.

Mikes also makes a gel scent that has a good consistency to it. This would work well.

I suggest the crawfish flavor only because the fish in strawberry know exactly what that flavor is and will eat it readily.

If you just want to coat the outside of your lures, any of the smelly jelly brands will do. In any form.

I personally dont have a favorite anymore.
I have so many different types and styles and flavors, but they all have different applications.

Dr juice makes a killer natural molting crawfish goo. I also like thier tournament bass flavor.

Berkley powerbaits bass attractant goo is good.

Yum makes the most potent of all the scents I own. Thier LPT crawfish and shad/gaspareau will knock your socks clean off you if you get to big a wiff.

Mikes makes a bunch of good stuff in a variety of flavors. I like the lunker lotions and the gel scents, but they make others that are nice as well.

Good old smelly jelly in either the jars, or the bottles, have the widest variety of flavors to choose from. Thier sheer selection is amazing.
My favorites in thier line are the 1000, the crawfish, craw daddy, anchovy salt, 2000, and leech.

Some of the most popular and big sellers, are special mix, corn, and nightcrawler.

basically if you look at my scents tray sitting in the bottom of my boat, you will find a large variety of choices in consistency, flavors, and brand.
I totally believe in the power of the stuff.
I am very well pleased with my results so I see no need to alter my usage.

I will tell you this, I have never caught a real giant fish without it.

My rule of thumb on pressured water is if you get bit but miss the fish, before you throw back in, drench the living heck out of the lure in scent, then toss it in. It almost never lets me down.
When you know theres a fish there, and hes somewhat willing to bite, but just not totally commited to your lure, just fill his surroundings with that flavor and he will smash your lure even though he may be a bit hesitant otherwise.
