40 hp too much for 14 ft jon boat?

[font "Arial Black"][red][size 3] I myself wouldn't use a motor that big on a 14 ft'er, but there are those that would. I have a friend that has a 16ft. Gregor aluminum boat and he has a 25 hp Merc 4-stroke on it and has no trouble with weight or power.[/size][/red][/font]
