Jordanelle, 8/4 - Another great fishing spot off limits
#20
[#bf0000]After reading all the post about the rule of dogs must be on a leash in a State Park, and being a dog owner myself, I feel the urge to comment. I feel that you need to follow the rules of the waters you are fishing. If you want to fish with your dog in a state park then keep the critter on a leash as the law states. If you fish from a tube and still want your dog then look elsewhere for a fishing hole or buy a boat so the dog can be with you without disturbing others! I take my dog fishing with me in my boat on Bear Lake all the time. It is not on a leash while in the boat, but when I get to the marina/shore I do leash my dog. I agree with most everyone else that dogs should not have to be leashed in state park-owned areas without improvements, but its not my choice. Its their land and they make the rules for it. Is it right? Maybe not. Can we influence the parks to change the law? Maybe, it can't hurt trying. But in the mean time if you want to fish in state parks, obey the law and quit whining! Or leave the dog at home or as I suggested earlier, buy a boat and fish with your dog where it is allowed.[/#bf0000]
