Jordanelle, 8/4 - Another great fishing spot off limits
#11
Leaky

I feel the same way as you. I take my do with me almost every where I go. Some times he ends up staying in the bed of the truck, if I don’t take him with me I hear about it when I get home. 95% of the people I run across are not trouble by him and want to give the dog attention. I am aware of the other 5% that want nothing to do with the dog and don't want him around. I can usually tell who they are and will call my dog to me and hold on to him until out of the situation. If I find that Im around some one who does like dog I will tie him out or put him in the truck. I have never been offended from someone asking me to tie up my dog because they don't like dogs. I hope I have not offended any one with my dog that I have fished with, next time let me know and I'll tie him up.

I to have had problems in state parks for have my dog off the leash while ice fishing and I was the only one on the ice. Because of receiving a ticket that day I have not paid to fish at a state park or purchased another annual pass for the last two years which I have for the past 5 years.

Technically they can also ticket you while in your boat for not having your dog on a leash. I was able to get State Parks to change the ruling on OHV's will ice fishing I how ever was unable to get them to change the rules for dog while one the lake (unfrozen or frozen) I was discussed in the board meeting but was drop. Reasonable dog owners need to band together and call State Parks and comment to lighten up the rules on dogs. I've been trying to get State Parks to change there rule to allow dog to be with in voice command outside improved campgrounds, requiring leash in improved campground area.

I was on a ATV ride this weekend with a large group of people over 100 OHV’s. It was held in the Uinta National Forest. I count over 12 dogs running around. The ranger came by. They were there to mainly check on OHV regulation. In talking to them about the dog they stated the policy for the National Forest is that the dog must be under voice command and not be left to bother others in the area if out side improved campgrounds, inside improved campground dogs are required to be on a leash.

If anyone would like more information on who to contact send me a PM and I'll send the info. to you.
