Yes, Dan. I fished with him 2 days last summer. He does know what he's doing and you will learn a lot in a day on the water with him. Some folks have said he's a bit too intense for their liking, but personally I didn't find that to be a problem. If you want to catch these big fish consistently, I think a big part of it is staying 100% focused on what you, your lure, and your rod tip are doing and you'll certainly learn a lot about that in a day with Jim. He works hard to get you on fish and to get you to a point where you can make them eat it.

So, in short, yes I really recommend him.
