I am not sure which pump you have, but mine(a very common river raft double action pump - grey) works fine on those valves. I used to use it on my river rafts(a 17.5 foot havasu and a 16 foot self bailer). You should have a larger adaptor made of clear tygon(or black plastic) for your pump that will fit - if not, they can be easily and cheaply made.
