Kent has posted a very good artical on bottom bouncers so I will keep it simple and short. 2oz. will cover just about every situation you will need for now, 0.8 speed is just about right to keep your line at a 45 degree angle form you rod. at that angle you can control it better when feeling for bottom. it's better to hold you pole straight out the side of the boat and when you drop back to feel for bottom you should hit bottom with in a foot of dropping back, if not let out more line. and if you start to drag bottom reel up a little. what trolling a bottom bouncer is ?? is adjusting you line all the time. I feel for bottom every 3 to 5 seconds. I bite will be just like you are bait fishing on the bank tap, tap, DON'T set the hook on the first bite, but insted drop your pole back just a little bit and the fish should hit some more, drop back some more, the tap tap should quite and you will start to feel some weight, thats when you want to set the hook, and give it a long sweep set.
hooking you worm is most important, make sure it doesn't spin, you want the worm nice and straight. when dropping it down you will want to be moving and your trolling speed, makes it easyer to control. well it was a little long, but to the point, hope this helps
