Nor have I Kent.
Remember the "big flood" back in 68 when the township of Lake Shore became the new hot spot for carp spearin'? That was probably about as deep as Utah Lake has been in our life times and perhaps since Lake Bonneville existed..[

___
Unless the center of this valley has had a great up lifting geologically speaking, in the middle of our little pond known as Utah lake, in the past 150 years the bedrock/bottom remains pretty much the same now is was when the pioneers first sight eye on the mud puddle. Or, straight out, I'm not buying the old wives tales that Utah Lake was once was so clear and clean and loaded with so many huge trout that a guy could walk across their backs from the "Swede's bay" to the "hot Pots" because I dont think the geological features of this valley, and of the lake itself, would support such tales.
Whats more, I dont believe any depth was added to the Lake when the (pump) house was installed. If anything, the "channel" was slightly deepened leading to the (pump) house to provide a greater volume of water to the (pumps) witch provided a great volume of water for Salt Lake valley crops..
