Teroy, the ice is on the creek usually mid to late Dec. but it usually is not safe until jan. Now all that depends on how cold it gets, how soon it gets that cold, and how long it stays cold at the start. We have the kondike campout there for the last 2 years. Mid Jan and our version of dog sledge races (scout masters in sledge, scouts pushing and pulling across ice). Last when we got there the ice was to thin, by the next morning we were racing (-17 that night) the cold weather added 1 and a half inches to the ice over night. Now the good fishing part, sheeesh you don't ask much do ya![

I haven't found it all so hot myself. But then I just started ice fishing there last winter. I have learned a whole bunch since then from some of the fisher people who live on it in the winter. I'll ask Chris when the best times usually are and post thenm back here tomorrow.
