Fishing The Mitten (Michigan)
#9
UNION LAKE

Access to Oakland County's 465-acre Union Lake is good. Anglers can get on the ice right off Union Lake Road. From there try along the drop-off in 5 to 20 feet off water on the east side of the lake

Union Lake's bluegills often push 10 inches and can be fooled with ice flies, micro jigs and teardrops pinned to wax worms. Like crappies everywhere, Union's crappies prefer minnows.

Union Lake has also been producing pike and walleye through the ice.
