I personally have switched over to Vanish on all my poles. After fishing macks for a few days at willow and not even a bite, then putting on vanish and having multiple fish on, I'd say it works. I like it on bass, also. Heck, just about anything. Last summer on the bay the black rockfish were up shallow at night. They wouldn't slam 2# test with a gitzit. Went to wallymart and got vanish and limited on 10 fish in 20 minutes. Plus its pretty durable. I caught a little toothy ling cod & wolf eels with just 6# line. A little bit of frying, but it worked none the less. Just change the line on your reel often. Rocks do have a habit of fraying it up pretty good.
