Picking a good fish finder is like picking a good BBQ sauce. There are so many to choose from and so many different ingredients in them that make them unique.
Hummingbird make a very good fishfinder for the price and so does Bottom Line. Eagle is like a step up and Lowrance carries a hefty price tag but for a good reason.
My recommendation would be to check out some of the demo units available at many of the retail outlets. Find the features that you are looking for and if it is possible, readjust your budget to get a product that you will enjoy for many years.[cool]
