The little shrimp that I am referring to is called by many names depending on geographic location and angler to angler.
It is not actually a shrimp to say but is a little bug larva that lives in the water and turns into something else later. They mimic shrimp with their legs up front and their tails that wiggle and curl like a shrimp.
The common name is shrimp or wrigglers and go by other names elsewhere (I don’t remember the actual name of the buggies but if interested I can dig through my archives for it)
I have since found a web site that will sell you these hot little bugs but you will have to buy a bunch of them, not like walking in to your local bait shop and picking up a dozen or two
They are small so you will want to use a small wire hook a number 8# or a number 10# or your little bug jigs are ideal to put those little tidbits on allowing the tails to hang loose like a regular jig tail.
They work well on perch, gills and crappie yes even a bass or pike are sometimes enticed by the action of these little critters.
If you are finding a location to perches them like I have let me know and I will dig through my now extensive source file and you and your buddies can order some. Respectively they are not as expensive as one may think and for or five anglers will use them up in a season.
