Callie you make a good point.
All creaters can get used to a lot of one type of noise or another and learn to ignore it and deer on the highway are a great example.
With that many machines crossing the ice I can see how the eye would get used to the sound of snow machines and augers. Here on the other hand, and mainly speaking of a Lake witch is barely 9 or so foot deep in a good water year, the eye are very flighty. Yet I've seen the same reaction here while fishing for eye on deeper waters also. My guess would be that in your area there are probably far more fisherman working eye waters durning ice fishing season than here. Here it seems like we eye ice fisherman are few and far between.. In fact, last year I traveled to a well known eye hot spot here 4 times and only ran into 3 other fishermen, the second trip out..
