This is part of a world wide effort to restore some of threatened fish populations do to over commercialized harvest.
All in all this is a good thing, fish will be kept frozen longer and not put on the shelf to spoil before they can be purchased.
The economy will benefit because they will take advantage of the reduced supply and stick the price on to the costumer.
The customer will benefit because it will raise the price out of reach regular class working "Joe" therefore giving back to the upper classes their fancy restaurants. not that this will mater much because the average Joe isn’t interested in this type of fish in the restaurants anyway.
The fish will benefit by the reduced stress caused by commercial fishing.
Many other fish will benefit by the return of their natural food source.
My opinion on this is that this is a good thing, and I hope that the rest of the world complies with the resolutions of the world summit to restore fish populations by safe guarding their resources giving them a chance to repopulate and making the best use of the resources they do have and not waist them as they have been in the past up to the present. I believe that this will give future anglers a better quality fishing trip along with preserving something for our children and theirs.
