I wish I would have read this before I got my baitcaster. But I've been really lucky. Many times I'll even leave it completely loose so I can hopefully get some extra distance on my cast. Most of the time I'v avoided backlashing but sometimes I get it. Just hope I don't get a bite while removing the backlash!
