Lake Mead Fishing Report
#3
Doing this in the dark with 4 ft swells I took some spray and was glad for the windbreaker. No water in the boat or bilge. Just trim the Skeeter 's bow up and run the Yamaha 115 at 2500 RPM through the bad stuff around Saddle Island. Many times I can trim bow down and slice through at 3000 or 3500 RPM on semi plane. Depends on the period of the swells. Believe me, I am not interested in pushing the limit.

Doing this run at night still makes me respectful of the hazards around that Saddle Island passage.

We got off work - construction - early, because our finsh material didn't arrive, so no choice about when to go - go at 3 PM or don't go. That is usually a good window for the Spaghetti Bowl passage going south on the 95.

Compare Boulder Basin launch to say Windsor Beach launch at Havasu. Havasu has maybe 20 slips for launch docking, painted launch lanes, approach control that works, designated wipe down area close to launch and plenty of paved parking. But annual launch pass at Havasu is about 100.
