[Size 2] [font "comic sans ms"] hedgesd, long time no type.
I didn't hunt, I just went along for the ride, coudn't fork over the $387 or so for nonresident lic. and tag (but after the fact I wish I would have). I was in a prime location to get a forked horn, the buck stopped right behind a tree limb which obscured it from my fathers view but I had a clear shot from where I was sitting.
I didn't get but a few scenery photos. The buck we did get was dressed and bagged before I got back to camp. He was in the early stages of being a nice 3X3. So I have to wait for the hard copy of the pictures. We didn't see much movement on the morning hunts, I saw a total of 6 deer in four mornings. The bucks were hard to find but the does were very plentiful. A typical afternoon road hunt we would see around 12 to 13 does in a couple mile loop we were taking. Most does were with twin fawns and yearlings. Also, got a good look at a heard of Elk. The biggest bull was about a 6pt (couldn't really see the other side so I'm guessing it was a 6X6). He was monitoring a group of about 15-20 cows and calves. Mixed in was a 3pt and a spike bull. We watched them for the first 2 mornings. Did you get to hunt this year? If so, how'd you do?
Take care,
David
