media bias? lol
#52
Whew! What a read!

You folks have really outdone yourselves with this thread. I have read the entire thing. I'm not going to say I understand all of it, or that I care how much of it all is true or false.

Here's my take. Anyone raised/trained to be a politician, regardless of affiliation, is an outright lying S.O.B. The American public wouldn't have it any other way. The general populous is too stupid to know what to think, or want, so they need to be lead around like a dog on a leash. Politicians are more than happy to "take the lead rope".

I don't know anyone that has never told a lie, do any of you? I'll bet not. Politicians just do it very creatively. They have comedic writers, political writers, legal writers, and a lot of statistics majors get together to write almost everything they say. Just once, I'd like to hear directly from the candidates themselves, in an unscripted and completely live debate. What we have been watching is so controlled, we may as well be watching a T.V. commercial for a product that we don't need, or want.

I don't know anyone that didn't do something in his or her younger life that would be viewed as "bad" in a presidential campaign. Do any of you? I'm willing to bet the vast majority of you don't. I don't care what someone that is 40-50 years old did when they were 15-25. That has nothing to do with who they are today aside from lessons learned. I want to know what they have been doing the last five years in great detail. That is going to tell me a lot more about a person than what they did 20-30 years ago. It will surely tell me more about what they are going to do for the next 4 years.

I agree that voting "straight line" Democrat or Republican is just plain and simple a bad idea. There are way too many variables in people to take that approach.

If everyone took the time to learn about each and every candidate for every office, they would not have time to anything else; Therefore, we are forced to get at least some of our information from some form of media. I just ask that everyone take it all with a grain of salt. Most of it is one-liners that are pulled out of context or re-worded just a bit. You saw it in the last debate; you'll see it in tonight’s debate.

America needs to wise up and start to see the truth behind the big curtain. Start paying attention to yourself when you are watching a commercial. Do you notice all of the "catch phrases" and backgrounds? Do you notice that not only is the woman’s hair clean, she is now in a $4000 dress and has had professional makeup applied. The sun came out from behind the clouds. The entire house whitened, and in most cases, friends appear. Did you notice how many times the vehicle was "best in it's class", yet how times did they list the other vehicles in the same class? Or how many vehicles are in that class all together? How about what that class is? This is exactly what you are getting every time you watch anything about a candidate. Take it all in, but don't get taken.

Wake up America. You're being duped and you either don't know it, or don't want to see it. Just open your eyes, that's all it takes.

Now, with those open eyes, take a look at the candidates from this new point of view, and vote what your gut tells you. You know what issues you are passionate about, and what ones you could care less about. Just make sure you vote, or as far as I'm concerned, you don't have a right to complain.

Thank you BFT for a forum where we can speak open and FREE. Thank you forefathers for creating a land where BFT can exist.
Thank you past, present, and future military personnel, for keeping it that way.

I think that about does it for me. Thanks for reading.
