Geeze, bring out the foam gloves and let me down easy why dont ya?
I really expected more from you BLM.[
]
Heres the thing. I just hate to see SO MUCH of the general public get in on the media bashing of a canidate.
Heres what I see all day long. I see the catch phrases dealt out by the media repeated and repeated.
But, if you are gonna join the debate, you have to have some material to arm yourself with. At least if I am going to join the debate you better.
I get this all the time. "John Kerry has no plan. He just bags on Bush."
To that I reply by stating Kerrys plan for foriegn policy, or whatever. And ask the offending person what is the Bush plan?
Not surprising, 90% dont know that either. So, then i have to explain what bush has laid out.
But whats stupid is that ten seconds ago that guy was telling me he wasnt going to vote one way, because the canidate didnt have a plan. But when asked about the other guy, you find out he doesnt have a plan that you are aware of either. So why are these people supporting this other guy?
Its simply partisan bull crap.
Ask a partisan what thier party platform is. 99% cant tell you. Its staggering to see how many people align themselves with a party they know very little about. On bolth sides.
Debate and discussion is very healthy, but you know as well as i do that you have to be inofrmed with somethign other than the partisan spin you hear on the news to actually be armed in a debate.
I get fed up simply with all the type debate that goes back and forth with the spin.
Its real easy to repeat the negative spin, like flip flopper, or more of the same, or any of that, but most people I talk to say simply dont vote for bush because hes got this huge deficit, or hes made our position in the world weak, or dont vote kerry because he has no plan, or hes a flip flopper.
None of this is factual. None of it. Its all spun to favor one or the other.
Rather than telling me why not to vote for one guy, tell me why to vote for one guy. Thats whats missing here. Theres lots of negative bashing of canidates, but the guy worth voting for is not the guy who had less bad about him, its the guy who has more good about him.
I am not voting for Kerry in this election. I dont like his plan. I ahve seen what he wants to do, and I personally want to go another direction. But, I have to defend kerry on a daily basis from the partisans. Its not right to let people go around thinking the spin is true. They play a 3 second sound clip taken out of context, with out all the other information that was said with the one liner, and spin it, label it, and sell it to america. Its wrong, its a lie, its innacurate, and its disgusting to see.
I dare stand in the midst of a republican state, voting for a republican, as a registered republican, and say, John Kerry is not a flip flopper. And I will debate that with anyone. But you better come armed with facts, and info to back it up. The truth is out there. If you just take the time to look for it.
So BLM, I expect that next time we go out fishing there will be a livley political discussion that takes place. But be warned. I will not stand and listen to partisan lies. We will debate those lies until the truth is exposed.
