[black]Hey, Predator! One of America's favorite past times is debating politics., especially during a presidential election. Yes, debating is fun. It is something a lot of people find very mind stimulating. Obviously you must find it some what tantilizing because you've jumped right in and voice your opinion, threw out some strong opinions and arguments contrary of others opinions. You should expect some sort of reply and if I know you, you like the banter. HA! [/black]

[black]Health debate is good. Political debate is as American as apple pie and has been here since the conception of our country. Think of it. A man can express his views on the ecomomy, the candidate, policies of how his country should be run. This is the very foundation of our freedoms - Freedom of speech.[/black]

[black]Here's a little something that explains it better than I can:[/black]
[black][/black]
[black]"If we don't want to live in a dictatorship, we must be vigilant to preserve our freedoms. If we wish to preserve our freedoms, we must be informed on the issues. Being informed on the issues requires that we become acquainted with alternative points of view. The history of the development of civilization can be seen as the history of debates on issues. In democratic societies, there must be public debating. Newspapers have served this purpose and still do to some extent in this country. However, we seem to have lost awareness of the importance of debating since the days of Thomas Paine. The sixty-second sound bite has created the illusion that the important issues are all brief and cut-and-dried. The importance of debating issues is fading from the public consciousness. One principle aim of The Truth Tree is to increase awareness of the importance of rational debating. But constructive debating is an art."[/black]

[black]Partisan hatred is rampant and is not consider debating or contructive. Too many people are driven by hate which voids the mind of any constructive thinking. [/black]

[black]To quote you, you said[/black]

[black]"A thinking person watched the debates, saw the canidates, listened to thier plans for americas future, and made positive points on bolth sides. "[/black]

[black]I like to say I agree but I don't think you go deep enough. Anyone can say something that is pleasing to the ear in a 90 minute debate but how can you be sure you are getting the truth or are words meant to steal your vote because the words are what you wish to hear? One must delve deeper than the 90 minute debates to understand the the complexities of the issues, and the morals and fiber of the men. A man's record and history is but a breif glimpse into his future endeavors. How can some one go thru life one way and be expected to have totally different core values once elected?[/black]
[black][/black]
[black]Thanks for your opinions![/black]
