FISHING: Good
Smallmouth Bass- It's that time of year again!! The smallies are starting to get turned on and the bigger fish are on the hunt. The next few weeks will see the bass on the best bite since spring-these guys are fattening up for winter and the bass fishing doesn't get much better than it is during the fall period-the fish are hungry, the water is in great shape and the weather is good-if you like fishing for bass, now is the time to get after it!! Catfish- As with all other species, the catfishing will improve tremendously in the early fall period. The Snake river below Lower Granite Dam provides some of the best catfishing in the area-most fish are in the 2 to 8 lb. range with a few going into the teens and low 20s and the numbers are great!! Next to the spring months, Sept. and early October will be the best of the year to harvest some of these great eating fish.
