I'm in Utah, which is generally a dry state, but the last 6 years have been particularly bad -- most of the west has been in this drought for about that long. Usually, Utah gets about 20 - 25 inches of rain a year, which is a lot less than you get back east. The past few years, however, we've only gotten about 12 - 15 inches.
Hopefully all this rain means the drought will be over after this year and we'll start getting more water.
