Lead Core Line Trolling
#1

Hey there Tube Persons,

I've had no trouble slow trolling my 9wt fly gear with a good heavy sinking line. I've also done pretty decent trolling stuff in the Big Salty. No problems plastics or live bait either.

I've been checking up on some lakes that might have stretches of deeper bottom that might hold better fish.

With some of the lead core lines (12 to 30 lb ratings... heavier ratings more grains per foot)it is recommended that one troll from 0.5 to 1.5 mph. I suppose that's what you need to keep your line/bait at the desired depth.

Have any of you guys done any lead core trolling targeting 100 ~ 150 feet or so? What did you drag.... with what line... at about what estimated speed? Thinking of messing with some small plugs and plastics when a lake turns over.
