Take the whole liver and cut the slices lengthwise from the flattest shape that it comes in. That should make them about 1inch by 3/4 inch depending on the thickness of the liver itself.
Water out of the Great Salt Lake could almost be used at face value. You could also add vinegar to it in order to increase the acidity of the salted water to around 12%.
