Possibly. I know the Carp was brought to the U.S. by Chineese immagrants (according to ledgend) and are a favored fish in Asian countries. My wife, a Fila, loves carp, though, I would not touch it after the first bite. She says catching them in early spring, and/or complete removal of the "mud vein" next to the spine, reduces or elimimates the muddy taste.
