Mono deteriorates from UV (sunlight) and abrasion. It also becomes stiff with age, which is particularly bad on spinning reels.<br><br>Here in the saltwater we usually replace our line more than once a season, sometimes after one trip if we pull on a few fish.<br><br>Line is cheap.
