In Search of CLEAN water!

We have had 7.5 inches of rain in last week here in southern wisconsin. I had NOT been able to fish due to water clarity. It was about driving me crazy.

I went in search of clean water today........kinda clean was enough...
I found some right away.....is crazy how good water can be right under your nose and you drive over it daily.

I walked back to this old bridge ruins......
As I came up to the hole....a big fish scurried out of the shallow slow water back into the meat of the hole.......

I was mad.....thought that the water was too dirty for it to see me.....decided it was and it did it just on a lark.........

I casted exactly where I had seen the big wake stop.......

BANG

It was huge....It immediately started doing an ALLIGATOR roll..........
Off it went.........approxiamtely 25 inch male brown!

I was so mad.......

I got my stuff back together.......checked my panther martin.....checked my knot and casted in again.......


BANG


The fattest brown I ever had on.......hit right by shore....It wasn't the longest brown I have ever caught.....BUT.....was for sure the fattest!

She swallowed the panther martin way down in to her gills......I could NOT revive her.....

I will have her on the GRILL tomorrow!


I caught 15 other trout today in marginally clean water........
