I don't get a pop - up add either. I bet you have some spyware on your computer that feeds popup ads to you.
I good way to get rid of those is by installing the Google toolbar which has a pop-up blocker. It's free and you can get it at:

It will stop those annoying popups. And if you ever need a popup that it's blocking, just hold CTRL down when clicking on whatever link or page you need and it will allow the popup.
That won't get rid of the spyware, however. For that, I'd recommend getting Lavasoft's AdAware program. It's also free, and you can scan your computer and remove all unwanted spyware with it. I've used it for a couple years now and it works great. You can get it at:
